As digital learning and campus IT requirements expand, educational institutions require robust and scalable infrastructure. Recently, Coolnet partnered with a leading local network and IT solutions provider in Egypt to construct a highly efficient data center for a prominent university.
The primary challenge of this project was the local environment. The equipment needed to operate reliably in high ambient temperatures while maintaining energy efficiency and providing room for future IT expansion.

The Coolnet Solution Configuration
To meet the client’s specific demands, Coolnet designed and delivered a customized, end-to-end Modular Data Center (MDC) solution. The turnkey deployment included the following core components:
- Dual-Row Infrastructure: The physical layout consists of an enclosed dual-row aisle containing 8 IT racks, configured to support a 5KW load per rack. This contained structure optimizes airflow and improves overall cooling efficiency.
- High-Temperature Thermal Management: To combat the extreme local climate, we deployed four 25KW In-Row Precision Air Conditioners. These units utilize R134A refrigerant, which is specifically engineered for stable, continuous operation in high-temperature environments, preventing server overheating and ensuring 24/7 uptime.
- Resilient Power Supply: Power continuity is critical for campus networks. The facility is backed by two 40KVA Rack-Mounted Modular UPS systems. Paired with a customized battery bank, the configuration guarantees 30 minutes of reliable backup time during grid power fluctuations.
- Intelligent DCIM System: We customized the Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) monitoring system to match the operator’s needs. The software includes advanced energy consumption analysis features, providing the university’s IT team with real-time visibility into power usage and environmental data.
End-to-End Technical Support
A successful data center deployment relies heavily on the execution phase. Throughout the project lifecycle, the Coolnet technical team provided responsive and comprehensive support.
From the initial solution design and configuration optimization to the final on-site installation and commissioning guidance, our engineers worked closely with the local IT provider. This collaborative approach ensured the equipment was properly calibrated for the environment and the project was handed over on schedule.
